Ingredients:
For the Crostini:
- 1 baguette, sliced into ½-inch rounds
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 garlic clove, halved
For the Herbed Goat Cheese Spread:
- 8 oz goat cheese, softened
- 2 tbsp heavy cream (or milk, for a lighter version)
- 1 tbsp fresh chives, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp fresh basil, finely chopped
- 1 tsp fresh thyme leaves
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
For Garnish (Optional):
- Honey drizzle
- Crushed walnuts or toasted pine nuts
- Microgreens or arugula
- Extra lemon zest
Instructions:
- Prepare the Crostini:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Arrange the baguette slices on a baking sheet and brush lightly with olive oil.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
- Remove from the oven and rub the warm crostini with the cut side of the garlic clove for extra flavor.
- Make the Herbed Goat Cheese Spread:
- In a bowl, mix the goat cheese, heavy cream, chives, basil, thyme, lemon zest, salt, and pepper until smooth and well combined.
- Assemble the Crostini:
- Spread a generous layer of the herbed goat cheese on each crostini.
- Garnish with honey drizzle, crushed nuts, microgreens, or extra lemon zest for added texture and flavor.
- Arrange on a serving platter and enjoy immediately.
